    7040 ADF jamming

I'm looking for suggestions on a 7040 ADF which is jamming on every copy. Removed a paper fragment from PS309 but still jamming and its right around PS309 where the paper is stopping. The tech that worked on this machine also cleaned a few clutces, no luck

    Any ideas?

Try checking the cam on the gate for 2 sided copies. Page 8 of DF parts book, call out # 4 - shaft (upper) part # 120A45110. This cam cracks and when actuated by the solenoid can slip on the shaft which can leave the plastic tabs on the shaft that make up the gate, in the way of the paper path. The paper then jams at that spot every time. Reposition the cam so the tabs are out of the paper path but when actuated will allow the paper to go into the reversal area without catching. You can then epoxy the cam in place. I've used JB Quick Weld several times. I've also replaced this shaft and it is a JOB! Hope this helps.
