Question Konica C65hC toner in C6501 and paper size

Can you use the C65hC High Chroma - TN614 toners in the 6501? -- The toner for the 6501 is TN612. If so -- is it worth it?

Also -- Can I get a confirmation that the 6501 will accept (will fit) a 13.6" wide sheet from the bypass? I have heard and read this in many places.. I realize that the maxium printable area would still be 12.6 (or so) and the spec if for 13" sheet.

And -- is anyone running longer sheets through the machine... I wuold love to be able to run 11 x 25.5 sheets -- producing a 3 panel full size newsletter (folded to 8.5 x 11). Are there any catches to this?

Finally -- I used to have a C500 (thank god that machine is out of my shop).. we used to need 2 fusers -- one for the std. sheets and another for wide. I was told this is not a problem with the 6501... However.. I would like to run envelopes. Runs of 500 or less at a time. Will this damage (ie. leave marks) on the fuser?

Im looking at a 6501 with the IP408 (with auto trap) - Exit tray only, and LCT.

    Thanks

You could probably use hc toner in 6501 but for one the catridge won't fit and if you did get it to fit you would have to print 500 full coverage prints to purge the standard toner, this assumes of course the developers are compatable.

I think the max sheet length is 13" since the print is maxed at 12.6 you would end up with an inch of nothing anyway. Creo released a patch that allowed a banner mode (1200mm long) on a c6501 but you could not have a finisher or PF unit attached so your spec looks good for this. I haven't seen a patch for the IC-408 to enable this.

The envelopes will damage your fuser.

Like the C500, the C6501 fuser can have lines. There is a kit to make it easier to swap the fuser units.

DON"T use the HC toner in the C6501 The hc machine is special. For banner mode you have too make settings in the softswitches. Creo made a patch but you don't need a patch for the 305/408.
