Hi, I seem to be having a recuring problem on this range of m/c in that the exposure lamp will not come on when placing a document on the glass or through the document feeder, you then have to unplug the m/c from the wall socket to reset. Have first tried replacing power supply and then "pwb P" it will then work but the problem reoccurres, weeks some times months later.

The ribbon cable that runs from the ccd unit to the pwb-b board can cause issues. I would replace that to see what happens.

Also check the lamp voltage regulator inside the scanner unit.
