used toner count on 5430

I would like to know how to reaset the counter on the minolta 5430 color printer for the waist toner bottle, it saids bottle full you take it out and shake it the it saids bottle near full help thanks

I am not familiar with the model that you mention, but I would imagine you need to either empty the bottle or fit a new one in order to "clear the counter".

minimerlin is right. The old bottle should be cleaned completely if you reuse it.

If I'm not wrong, there is a glass on the waste toner box, where the machine is reading if the box is full or not. Try to clean that one, might be dirty with residual toner. I hope this help.

I dont see a window on the bottle but will look closer thanks for the thought still I think there is a reaset coutnter on the printer

I don`t want to sound wierd...but...have you looked for the answer in the user handbook? I often find them still sealed in their protective packaging under the machine!

Thats a 10-4 on the users manual I even went thru the map on the menue of the printer. The machine will say toner bottle full, you can take the bottle out put it back in then it will say toner bottle near full for about 50 prints then toner bottle full again. Dont know what is going on.

I have just downloaded the user manual...yup no reference to any counter resets. Does the waste box have any electrical contacts on it? I wonder if it needs to reset the counter when a new one is fitted? KM has started a habit of adding chips to toner carts so maybe this is the same idea?
