    C250 How Meaures Toner Levels

How does the machine measure toner levels? We keep getting 1/2 full toner bottles, is it reading a count of like 15k and going off or is it getting a reading from the ATDC when its "low" it pop's the chip.

Thanks for any help, we cant afford to keep these if they waste toner like this

tech support says that the low toner goes off at 33% left in bottle on these models. Let toner go until it says it is out and needs replaced. You will not have any problem with quality. You can check toner usage ratio on the supply status page to see how you rate compared to what KM says.

The chip counts down and prompts the change toner soon message, the actual replace toner message occurs when the toner level in the IU can no longer be maintained ( TCR ). The change toner soon message can be very inaccurate and should be ignored until the replace toner is displayed, the purpose is only to insure the customer has a replacement toner on hand.
