Biz Hub C250 Gradation adjustment won't start

,
I may be miss understanding the manual. This started as a fuser code
C3851. After resetting the code I ran a copy and the blue is purple.
I tried backing magenta off with MaxD but the magenta got pale and the
red turned orange. So I put it back.
the adjustment screen said to push the start button after the adjustment.
I selected the gradation mode on the adjustment screen and pushed start
nothing happens. Exit to the previous screen push start nothing.
Select the copy screen and hit start and it made a copy no adjustment.
I looked through the manual fairly good and only found what I did. Push
the start button after the adjustment.
The admin code was not available today. So I could not access the
gragation adjustment that way today.
I went through this 3 or 4 times. I am fairly new to this model also.
What did I miss??

Thanks for your time

Friend,
Check whether the Dev.Bias is ON in Image Process Adj. If its ON you will not be able to perform Grad adj.How much copies for Magenta Unit? If corona arching or low developer content is present you have to replace it. Otherwise pump enough toner ,perform Adjustment.

Thanks,
Abilash

Abilashvk,
Thank you for that info. I did not see that in the book either. Someone
else mentioned that I would need 11X17 inch or LTR R in the top drawer
also.
Will the gradation adjustment help with the blues being purple?

Thanks again

Friend,
You can perform gradation even with A4W sheets(long edge). If your blues are purple then magenta unit corona is probably arching and creating magenta background on copies/prints.Either you have to dismantle unit and clean corona unit or go for a new magenta unit. After that take a test page.satisfy yourself with print quality. Then perform Image Proc. adjustment.
Thanks,
Abilash

AbilashvK
I was able to complete the call. The blue still looks purple to me.
I changed the setting for paper in the upper tray and ran the 11X17.
It completed the adjust without trouble.
I did not notice any background from any color. The reds are red, green
is green. I ran a copy of a paper wrapper that had bright blues, green,
yellow and reds. It matched up pretty good. The customer agreed. So
I moved on to their next machine, an Aficio 2016. Fixed that one, wrote
the invoices, collected my check and hit the road.
The customer usually changes his own drums on this BHC250. He tells me
he has changed the fuser at least twice. Because they run LTR R and
legal, the fuser is getting groves where the paper travels and the shiney
plastic is worn in these two areas of the lower roller. I told him if he runs
mostly 11 inch they should change the paper feed direction to LTR to get
the most copy per fuser unit. The machine showed about 98K on the
fuser.
This was my first visit with this customer and I did not want to reveal
my inexperience on this model. And the DC bias was already off.

Thanks for your time and expertise
