konica minolta c350 hard drive

i am not familiar with this machine. have code c-12cb. customer wants hard drive taken off. when i do this i get code c-12co, copier doesnt recognize hd becouse i removed it. i am missing some steps. can someone fill me in on how to disable hard drive. thank you!!!!

In service mode change hard drive from set to unset. Primary drawback is that multipage scans will deliver a separate file for each page instead of a multipage file.
