Biz Hub 250

How old is this model of copier? Is there a way to tell the year and month from the serial number?

We have a customer who is being told by a Minolta dealer that their 250 is no longer supported and they can't get toner for it any more. Sounds a bit fishy to me.

Any thoughts?

Those machines were manufactured beginning in 2005.
There's a sticker on the back of the machine that tells what year the machine was manufactured in.
Toner should be available for that model for some time to come.

Directly above the barcode which is on the serial number sticker there's a code look similar like this:

Production for this model begin in early to mid 2004 it was available to KM dealers Nov 2004 to Jan 2005 depending what area you were in. This box took the place of the Di 2010, 2510 ,3010, 3510. Supplies and parts are still available from KM and several aftermarket company's.

Are you shure its a Bizhub and not a DI-250? The Di-250 came out in 1999 and is close to not being supported.

u can use biz hub 163/211 toner in DI 250/350,but the difference is bottle,even the developer is also same for these models.

Becareful . Bizhub 250/350 totaly differ toner with di 250, di 350, di 2510, 3510,1611,2011, bizhub 210,bizhub 163/162 ,even DV also ....
