Well well I never thought I would see the day that I stumped the team.
No one in this neck of the woods is able to help either.

Did you by any chance forget to remove the firmware card from the machine's board?

No did not do anything related to firmware card, the machine was switched on and this message comes up on top of the normal info that is being displayed i.e error re fiery 24 volt fan which is unobtainable in South Africa

So that error is related to the machine or to the Fiery?

Usually that kind of message pops up when finishing a firmware update on the machine. If it's Fiery related, then I can't see a connection.

    firmware

No firmware update has been done, no card in the machine
The firmware update type message is appearing, but for no apparent reason.
The fiery problem re the fan is a seperate issue.

Well, if that is so my guess is you have some kind of board problem.

If you can, try to reflash the machine's firmware. Also, check the boards for any bent pins and reseat all the connectors.

I can't think of anything else, sorry. Searched my docs and couldn't find anything like that.

I've seen this in the past.
As far as I remember the problem was fixed with reseating one of the eprom's on the machine pwb. the one top of the fiery.
Or you need to flash the firmware.
    I hope this helps.

I went through what I had as well and found nothing.

This could have some to do with what I predicted earlier regarding this particular machine and the removal of the Fiery controller because of the bad fan. I suspected it would interfere with the inner workings of the machine if removed, but I wasn't sure because quite frankly, I've never worked on one without the fiery installed. There could be a correlation between the two.
