    Is C500 black toner compatable w/ C650?

I'm out of black toner for my Bizhub C650 & can refill the cartridge w/ some C500 black toner I have on hand. Do you think the C500 black will work ok in the C650?

    No.

But if you try it, let us know - I'm in need of some good laughs over here!

I know, I want to hear how much it cost to have a tech vacuum out the hopper and change the developer. Even after that, it's hard to get every last little bit of bad toner out and you'll probably have ongoing issues for a bit.

Have fun and tell us a good story.

Actually, you never know... If you can find the material safety data sheets on both toners, you might actually be able to figure out if both machines are using the same toner, regardless as to what the bottle might be like. I can tell you for example that the toner in several B & W machines are identical even though the bottles were keyed-in diferently.

I have transformed 7075 drums into 7085 and Biz Pro 920 no problem.
Same goes for the Konica and Minolta versions of the 7155, 7165, 7255, 7272 and with the Biz 600 & 750.

I know that using the developer from the C500 to the 8050 does not cause any problems (you do have to modify the bottle though). Using an 8050 toner into a C500 will not give you the same quality you might be used to on a C500 though.

So don't be too quick to laugh, but I agree, if you are going to try it, be prepared and willing to have to replace the developer should it not work and off course, let us know how it goes.
