First of all, There is no SMB option on this machine. You will need to use SMTP (machine supports essentially everything except for SSL), or FTP (which is much easier than you're thinking it is).
As for TWAIN scanning, the machine needs to have the SU2/3, and the hard drive, which is unlikely.
I recommend using the FTP utility provided by Konica Minolta, or scan to e-mail. I think you may be overthinking FTP scanning, as it is as simple as installing the program, pointing it to the client's directory of choice, and setting up a static IP address on the machine (or using hostnames if a DNS server is available on the network.)
