    KM601 keeps falling off Network

Hello everybody, I have a KM601 which keeps falling off network. The machine is on a static IP address and the firmware is up to latest level. If the machine is restarted it will print out quewed jobs but then falls off again after a day or a few hours. Any ideas ?

I tested to see (when the problem happens) like this:
_detach the network cable to the printer.
_send a PING command to the IP address of the printer.
If you get response means that someone is using the same IP address of the printer, maybe a laptop or someone who does not often turn on the computer
... In the minute that you're thinking of giving up, think about why you lasted so long ...

    Ditto with the above.

    Other things to consider:

    1. Try a different data port (could be a bad wall outlet)
    2. Try sharing the print driver from a different computer / server
    3. Try the IP Filtering on the machine to only the server / computer that prints (have seen viruses knock the machine off the network)
    4. Ensure drivers are updated
    5. MFP Board
Please don't ask me for firmware or service manuals as refusal often offends.

Re: KM601 keeps falling off Network

Whenever I have seen network drops or lockups it has been a switching issue. Usually with a 1 Gig switch. If the switch is managed set the copier to 100 M full duplex and do the same with the port on the switch. If the switch is not managed then just set the copier. Another method of ruling out switching issues is to place a Mini Switch between the machine and the network jack and see if your problem goes away.
