    bizhub 350 drum problem

Hi i would like to ask about bizhub 350. some of my units have drum scratch (i think it is cause by the collar of the transfer roller). Why does this happen? Is there something that i should look on my transfer unit or does the collar on the developing unit also affect this. Thank you very much

Likely the seals of the mag roller are torn or have a hole in it. This happens when the rear mag roller collar is worn.

Though the little collar on the transfer roller can make some markings, I have never seen one tearing the surface of the drum although it would be perhaps imaginable.

Judging by the scuff marks on the drum, the dev unit is worn. I would replace thesel 4 parts. Drum, developer, developer unit and transfer roller...

Of course before replacing the entire developing unit, you could try to replace just the mag roller collars plus the mylars - it usually does the trick. Then, after confirming all goes okay and the mylar doesn't get eaten, go for the drum+cleaning blade. That mark on the drum could bring more problems, as the charge corona charges the aluminum, causing odd behaviour.

Remember that the transfer roller has life! Look at the horns that run on the drum ends, they should not be concave at all, if they are change the transfer roller!

I usially go ahead and change the developer unit every other developer change. Saves a lot of drums and calll-backs.

I saw this in many Bizhub 250/ 350 and even in the Di2510/ 3510 - but as far as I can see in the picture, that scratch is outside of the printing area, right? Correct me if I'm wrong - but if I'm not - why do you bother?
I don't help end-users. Hate me, give me bad reputation, I don't give a rat's a**. Pay a tehnician to solve your problem! We have to live too! What do you do when something hurts? Do you go to a doctor, or do you search it on google/ forums?

I've had charging problems related to that piece of metal showing up on the drum.

mrwho: ... like drum ground bars crossing the page at 95mm intervals? =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Never measured it, but I'd guess something like that, yeah.
