Konica 7165 overtoning

Keep overtoning after about 20k and have replaced developer & drum twice; and recalibrated drum percualirty adjustments setsup fine. Replaced toner control board. Checked developer augers, gears, and toner augers can't find anything wrong. Any suggestions Anybody???

Konica 7165 overtoning

Just regular line copy nothing out of the ordinary very little in the way of any solids or photo's. They have the Minolta Di650 which is the same as the Konica 7165 and it runs pretty much the same way, and it runs fine.

Well that machine does not have a toner density sensor so it gets the available density from doing a patch test on the drum. You will have to go down the route of checking to see if this working correctly I guess. For example is the patch sensor stuffed, toner control board faulty etc. You could compare the outputs in I/O's with the DI.

Make sure the image is exposed correctly in the area where the patch sensor is reading, for example, for some reason there could be a light band in the patch area causing the machine to over compensate and overtone.

From memory I think you can adjust the toner density in the tank and patch density with dip switches.

All I can offer really.

7165 Overtoning

Had a leaky developer unit cause this once. The toner mists out the ends and coats the sensors under the unit and it all goes downhill from there. Didn't notice the developer unit leaked because there was alway toner everywhere.

Good luck!

I have numerous DI 650's with the same problem, all in all this is probably the dirtiest running copier ever. I really do dislike this pig and can offer you no fix what so ever other than you can adjust toner drop through the soft switches. I think I remember seeing a thread here giving exact procedure for making this adjustment.

Yes, seems as if overtoning started occuring after 250k PM kit installed and developer change. LD1 and LD2 are both between 45-50.

you did use correct dev as bizhub dev. for 600/750 [dev 710] is different and causes toner problems either way when fitted to wrong model ! much obliged peter
