BH-600 Agitating Paddle Roller part #

Anybody having a part # for the BH-600 Agitating Paddle Roller in the developing unit?

The book does not have a number for it. It is the roller which is driven by gear part #57AA 7777 0 (Page22 Pos. 10).

Colleagues are telling me that this roller breaks often, is that correct?

I've came up with a mod that will help (I believe) keep these things from breaking but it will require that you take the dev unit apart to install. Sorry... I don't have a part number and I don't know if there is one as Konica expects you to buy a new dev unit.

I'm currently testing my mod on a 7272 and need to go check it in a week or two to see how it's holding up. I basically glued in some plastic washers and use some rubber washers to help keep the dev away from the seals. I believe that once dev get's in there it just slowly lathe's down the shaft till it breaks off. Keeping the dev from getting into seal in the first place will help. I should took some pictures when I did it at the shop. We have some old broken units in the shop, maybe I'll mod those and take pix.

Does this happen often and with every machine?

I don't know, I don't think so as we have a lot of them out there at schools. Can't say I've been replacing dev units left and right on them. Now a 7155 or 7272.... yep... happens a lot. They did "beef up" the dev units on the 600/750.

I thought the 600 and later were metal shafts, and 7155 were plastic. They broke often.

Yes they are metal, still get lathed down.
