C-FA14 - Thread Software Error - Related parts: Whole machine

    Hi everyone.

Bizhub 652 issue. After the completion of every print job, the machine hangs (with the job still in queue saying "printing"), then I get a screen stating to "Please turn main switch off and on."

I've firmwared this machine (It's currently GCH-F9). MFPB has been replaced very early on in its life for a different issue, HDD cables reseated. Issue still there.

I'm going to test printing from my laptop to eliminate their network. I'll let you know how I go.

    Anyone else had this issue?

This is one of the BW models
We had one here but fixed by doing firmware.

Check the marketing area is correct for your region

Gotta love the service manual description of this fault code, basically its saying to the tech "F-ked if we know, work it out for yourself!"

If it were me i would suspect either the HDD or the MFP board, but i would also be checking and ensuring the customer is using the correct driver. Its not uncommon for IT "professionals" to not understand the difference between a C and a non C machine when installing drivers.

Cheers guys. I'll check out all those suggestions. I'm going to pull out a 2nd hand HDD from a machine here at work as well, just in case.

    It's had 2 C-D00F codes yesterday too.
    I
shouldn't have asked how their machine was going...

I also say MfP board or even HDD. I've add this error on newer model where Mfp board has fixed the issue. See if there is some memory or HDD test in service mode and have it run through them.

MFP board will be the last thing we replace after every avenue has been check twice I think. It was only replaced not long after the machine was first installed.

What I ended up doing in the end, was replacing the HDD with a 2nd hand one. Formatted that, and away we go. Time will tell I guess.

They were using the correct driver. Marketing area was fine. I also eliminated their network, and tried printing directly from my laptop, which worked fine. I got them to retest printing after this new HDD was put in, and everything seems fine.

The last thing I'll try is get the IT guys at the Education department to change IP address, and perhaps reinstall the driver. It's on a school server, so I can't touch anything.

So they'll let me know if anything happens. Cheers guys. Hopefully it's sorted. Holidays Next week. YAHOO!!

On a unrelated note, has anyone had a machine freeze on power up (at the KM screen)? I'm sure you have. I replaced MFP boards, RAM and all sorts, only to find out it was a faulty port on the switch.

TYep. Ran those tests. Everything seemed fine. But I swapped HDD's anyway.

My experience dictates: beware of the IT people/things.

Glad you got it working (hopefully), Phrag!

I've had this before on 2 x c280's at a single school after lightning blasted the crap out of their switches.

Machines would boot but lock-up at the ready screen and only come back to life when and while the network cable was unplugged. Plugging directly into a laptop was fine. My guess was that the switch was sending its power supply voltage straight down the network cables.

After the switches were replaced the copiers were fine.

Yeah. I couldn't understand what was doing it. It was 2 hours out of town, so prior to going out there, I was liaising with one of the Councils IT blokes. He said he changed network cables, but it turned out it was only that 1 single port on a switch of 30 or something ports.

On top of that, it was in a donga (i don't know what you guys call it) in the middle of nowhere. Highly skeptical that it was running off the grid. More like Generator or something.
