C6501 Transfer belt getting toner on it?

Not able to post a picture just yet, but my transfer belt is getting toner marks across the entire length of it. I'm also now getting a C-4520 error as well, guessing it is all related. Thoughts?

Sounds like your belt cleaning isn't up to par. Take it out and empty it (vacuum it good), preferably replace the blade.
The C-4520 is a color registration error, sounds about right if you're getting streaks.

Seen them with paper in the cleaner unit as well.

I think I've gotten rid of the error, but I still have banding which I'm guessing is due to the age of the belt itself. If you could take a look at the attached file, let me know thoughts on that result as well, just think its time for a new belt if I had to guess.BizHub.jpg

Looks like your machine needs a service. What are the parts counters on?

280,000 ... I know it is the 200k service work. The problem is I have no service contractor and try to limit my expenses on the machine, it was just something I picked up super cheap at a liquidation auction.

I was just going to buy a belt and have a tech replace the belt. I just did the corona's myself about 30,000 pages ago so those should be good still I believe.

I just didn't know if there was a cheap fix for banding like that, like some simple way to clean the belt even. I don't use the machine much at all.

There is a bulletin for the C-4520 with only 6 attachments.
If you need them, send me your email and I will send em to you.

I think I got the C-4520 all taken care of, but thank you.

Now my big issue is just the banding I'm getting on every print. I've taken off the belt cleaning blade, cleaned it pretty well so it seems good. I can visibly see streaks on the transfer belt itself, guessing that is causing the banding.

You can see above in one of my posts a scan of a solid print I did to illustrate the effect being shown on all my prints

    Looks like coronas to me.
Color is not 4 times harder... it's 65,000 times harder. They call it "TECH MODE" for a reason. I have manual's and firmware for ya, course... you are going to have to earn it.

You can eliminate the cleaning of the transfer belt by replacing the entire transfer belt cleaning unit, PN A03UR74800. It should come out every second or third PM anyway.

If you think its a corona, just swap corona positions and look for a change in the image. You can also use the service mode for test pattern 53 which can make each color channel print individually to identify the problem.
