C253 Black Panel

Actually the machine will light up for a couple of seconds and then power down, after that its dead,no LED's no light just dead. Any ideas?

My first guess would be NVRAM, or HVPS.

had this on c250

have a c250 doing this and it is the MFP board.
have changed mfp and problem gone.display comes up for apx one minute and then dies. powering off ond on repeats problem.

Have had NVRAM do this before. I would try it first the look at board..

You could try the NVRAM recovery firmware.

Worked for me before. There was a setting somewhere that had to be done or the machine said it was generic and a better looking boot screen came up. Can't remember which dip setting it was.

NV-RAM recovery??

I also thought of a NV-Recovery first but my informations are that there is no NV-Recovery Software for the C253 series available??
I would be happy to get this software!!

Same problem on a bizhub 250 and swapping the NVRAM fixed it.

Swapping the NV-RAM will fix it for sure but my informations are that there is no NV-Recovery Software fore the C253 available...

Sorry Somehow I mixed up the models. I have had to use the nvram recovery chip on the c250 not c253. Again sorry for mixup

It's from the NVRam. There is a tool that writes to a CF card the files to reset the NVRam. The copier will keep all the counters but you have to do all the steps from the installation.
