    Bizhub 600 stumping me.

The problem is a jam from tray 2. The jammed paper is just in the bite of the feed separation rollers. It will feed the first page, and jam on the second. Jam code is 1704 most of the time, 1701 a few times.I have...

!. Changed the feed separation rollers. still jammed.

    2. Swapped out entire feed assembly and it worked, which led me to believe it was clutches.

While waiting a day for clutches, she called back, "It's doing it again."

    3. Put her feed unit back on, with new clutches and still no change.

    4. Log call with KMBS. All he did was look through bulletins. Still Jams.

    5. Swap out tray 2 with one of ours...Still jams

Put the feed assembly from the tray I swapped, and it works. I run 100 pages, no problem.
She calls back at 4:50 and says it's still jamming. I go by and check, and it is still the same.

    Any thoughts?

    The old favorite on KM:

Did you clean and oil, or replace one-way bearings? =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

seem to recall a bulletin suggesting to adjust the loop timing.

That is the drawer on the left? It is the clutches at the back of the horizontal transport that little drawer you can pull out. For good measure clean those sensors too.

Tray on the left is tray 1

There is a one way gear on the transport roller as part of the bypass assembly too, cant remember if this plays a part. Been a while, fortunately!

Well I went back and checked it again. Changed the feed assembly again with a good one. It worked for about 12 pages, then went back into the pattern. That is the third time I have swapped the feed assembly and had it work for some pages before going back. I don't know if this clue is helping me or throwing me off. Going deeper into the machine, the motor that lifts the tray seems like a variable. My logic is that I have had times where machine would pull one or two and jam and then find the paper misloaded and binding the tray from lifting.

I didn't see any mention of Jam Codes? But here are a couple of things I would check:

1/ Pull out the bypass assy, right in the middle of the part that faces into the machine there is a sensor, the actuator on this sensor tends to get sluggish and causes weird jam issues. Take that actuator off and clean the shaft it sits on, then when you put it back add an extra wrap on the actuator spring.

2/ Run the machine with copies being output "Face Up" if it appears to run ok, then change the mylars under the duplex/turnover assy.

Sorry I see the jam code in your first line Da! anyway I would still check that sensor.

I will look at the sensor. Face up or down not an issue as jammed paper never makes it out of the tray.

The sensor that I was referring to is PS36 "Loop Sensor" both of your Jam codes also point to this sensor.

Here is the parts diagram note item 2 this rubber can wear out or or fall off leaving the sticky part behind. If this is the case you can replace it or just clean the sticky residue off it seems to work fine without it.
