7022 Busted Feed Gear

Hey guys, I have a few of these at an account and one of them is tearing up the Paper Feed Coupling Gear three times in the past year or so.

You can see the two gears in question I have highlighted here.

I have looked and looked, but can seem to find why these fears are failing. Has anyone else seen this one this machine and what might be causing this? Thanks!

I had three break in a six month period on a 7030. Once I cleaned the passage through the rear frame, replaced the coupled gears (11 and 16) and the small gear above 15, never heard back! Knock on wood, I'm jinxed now.

you can replace the gears 26na17480 and 17490 with 40la17480 and 17490 from the 7228, and they dont bind and twist like the 26na ones do.

I usually just glue the two piece gears together. Clean shafts on all the gears located in this area. Also don't forget to clean the hub and shaft on the pickup tire.

I agree, just make sure you glue them together straight and no glue squeezes out the centre otherwise it will create a load. I found an old shaft that someone hacked the rollers off that was the right size to slide the gears down when gluing them, works every time.
