IS there a Linux driver for Fierys C452 C552 C652 machine printing really slow

Hi we have a customer printing on 3 C452 -C652 model machines but it is printing really slow from a Linux operating system. The customer is printing PDF files which are 100kb, these do however increase to 30+MB when spooling to print. We have spoken to Konica and all they have suggested is to format the HDD to see if that speeds it up (surprisingly no difference). We have thought of added IC-412 print controllers to the machine but cannot find a driver. Does anyone know if there is any way to potentially speed the printing up or if there is a Linux driver available for the IC-412 controller.

There is something on the KM infohub about updating the Linux PPD ( Old version :30000.0001 New version :30001.0000 ) there is a ZIP file on their site.

Sounds like you are printing true PS files, graphics, or something that has to be re-processed by the MFP to convert to a PCL print file. The Fiery might speed this process up somewhat, and if you are re-printing these images, then the Fiery can store the spooled files to make re-printing them much faster. But before I would invest in 3-4 K per Fiery, I would 1st try to use the KM PS driver for this MFP. Have your service tech ensure MFP is up to date with firmware and then download and try out the PS Driver. For example, we had a customer printing "Crystal Report" files. File properties shows the file being around 2-3 K in size, but when printing the job would spool to 30MB. Took 15 min to print a 3 page job. Same job sent to the tiny desktop HP ripped/printed in 30 seconds. PS driver worked about as fast as the HP. Emujo
