    Angry Taskalfa 250Ci - Error Code C7420

    Hi all

We have a Kyocera Taskalfa 250Ci giving us error code C7420 (Transfer belt unit type mismatch problem - Absence of the transfer belt unit is detected.)

The error has appeared after removing the fuser unit to clear a jam, once the fuser was reset into the machine. The code appeared.

Ive searched the forum and there is a few threads regarding this error, but none have a definitive resolution.

Its definitely the correct belt in the machine, firmware is the latest (V15). We have tried another transfer belt in the machine and showed the same error - granted this was not a new transfer belt.

The pins are fine and the cable is connected ok.

We have lifted the machine to our workshop so we can have a go at any suggestions!

    Thanks

    James

Triple check if there's a bent pin on the machine's body. That's the only reason I've seen this code on 250ci.

IIRC, this error code will appear if the pins don't connect all the way. The connector that goes through the frame has pins in it that are not long enough. I did maintenance on a machine & got that after installing the new belt. I basically had to gut the machine to get to the connector. You might try pushing the pins in under the fuser, but I think I had to push them from the rear frame side to get it to work. A regular 1/2 hr maintenance turned into about 4 more hours.
    Hope that helps !
