    TASKalfa 300ci noisy

    Hi Guys,

I have a problem with a TASKalfa 300ci. It works fine but makes a horrible sound. No paper jams and no errors on display/event log.
I make a video so you can hear the sound, download it here.

Sound is produced every time a print job was finished: if I print 10 pages, i hear sound at the 10th page, not every page.

    Any ideas/suggestion?
Sound seems to come from the drive unit upper the main power board. I already try to change motor and developer motor.

    Thank you in advance,
    Kyove

How many clicks/counts on the machine.?
Sounds like a dry idler gear oscillating on the shaft???
Its in the final exit assy. Try running some output motor tests in service mode.

MFP has 107220 B/W and 7917 Color clicks for a total amount of 115137.
    I've already tested with:
    - U030 (motors)
    - U032 (Clutches) with motor on
    - U033 (Selenoids) with motor on
And i had no strange sound.

    I have the noise when:
    - I woke up the printer from standby
    - After the printing job (video issue).

I think it's something in the exit section, il will make noise every page, not only at the last page.
I want to disassemble drive unit but unfortunately Service Manual do not talk about disassembly of drive units...

It's fairly unpleasant to dig into the main drive: 90 minutes minimum each way. I would make absolutely sure that's what you want to do, before you dig into the main drive.

If you cannot demonstrate your noise in U030, here are a few possibilities that will not appear in U030
-Guide B1 assembly not properly latched
-drum waste toner backup in the hopper assembly
    -transfer waste toner backup

I have written up a step-by-step for removing the Saturn main drive. If you would like the PDF, please send a PM with destination email. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.
