    Km 3040, C-2000 code

Since I just started working on this model and don't have a service or parts manual yet, anyone have this code? Also is there a common board or motor that is the cause? I unplugged and replugged the connectors per the KM 3035 manual but this is a different beast. Thanks much, Kevin P.S. the airconditioning went out in the building the same time the copier went down, so I am guessing some kind of surge went thru. It did have a dedicated Kyocera surge protector on it.

    Main Motor Error

C2000 is a main motor error. A power disturbance could easily have caused your code.

First I'd do a U906 Partial Reset. If the code remains, I'd pull the main motor and start turning the drive manually looking for some serious drag.

This machine is still pretty new. I think it's unlikely that you would have a bad motor this soon.

If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

    Unhappy

Thanks for the reply, In looking at km 3035 manual, I tried U906 and U163. The 3040 is quite different from the 3035. I am trying to get manuals for the 3040. Of course the copier is DOWN!!! I don't have the 3040 parts manual to see the 3040 main motor. there are two motors on the upper right side of the rear frame. When the copier tries to go to ready (fans come on the lower motor runs but the upper one stays still. then the C-2000 code pops. I did reset the connectors to those motors. Kevin

The upper motor is the main motor which drives the developing units & fuser. The lower motor is drum motor. The good news is the two motors are identical (part # 302H094200), so you can swap the two. That would be a good place to start.

If the top motor still doesn't turn, remove the motor but leave it plugged in. Power up. If the problem is with the drive circuitry it won't even try to turn. If the problem is with drag in the drive, the motor will run for a few seconds then error out.

    Good Luck!

    Wink Kyocera manuals

    Aloha-
If you give me your email address, I can send you a PDF file with the service and parts manuals. I think that I also have a couple of service bulletins associated with the Falcon III series machines. Let me know, OK?

Have you forgotten?? Your working on a Kyocera. We have had several motors go bad within months of set-up. Not to mention lasers during a demo on a machine with 100 copies.......
