Copy issue with CS-3035

I have a CS-3035 that is having problems with making copies. All internal prints are coming out just find. When an 11 x 8½ is copied from the glass, the bottom ¾ ” of the image is missing. When the same 11 x 8½ sheet is copied from the document feeder, the top ¾ ” of the image is missing. If the document is placed with the 8½ x 11 orientation , weather on glass or document feeder, no problems occur.
I have cleaned the mirrors and glass on the unit. Replaced the contact glass and shading plate. Replaced the exposure lamp, inverter PCB, and the ISU unit. All with no results.
The answer is probably something simple that I am just overlooking. Any help with this would be appreciated.

Have you tried adjusting sim U072 to center the image from the DP on the paper? =^..^=

Sounds like it thinks your original is sposed to be oriented 8 1/2 x 11 and it's printing all that way. Check your autorotation.

When in doubt you can always 906 it.

Make sure you are set for "inch"
Make sure cassette guides are correct.
Check that paper is not blocking the cassette switches.

Thanks for some ideas. I just worked with the machine a little longer and tried the suggestions above, but problem remains. I run through each of the maintenance modes and adjustments have been made, even gone as far as ordering and using the automatic adjustment sheet from Kyocera.

The paper is pulling from the correct size and tray, and all internal prints do not show any sign of the same problem of blank areas. I have had one suggestion that the main board is the problem, but I do not want to go that far if another case can be looked into first.

If you have any other ideas, please let me.

Have you tried flashing the firmware. I know firmware can cause all kinds of weird problems.

I mis-read your original post. I thought I read that the DP had the void area, but from the copyboard glass not. I can see that I was mistaken. You have very thoroughly covered all the possibilities.

You've completely ruled out the engine as the source. That only leaves optical and image processing. The void area could come from the CCD, the ribbon cable, a fault in the firmware, or the main board. More specifically the main board could be blanking the image incorrectly only when copying. If the original size detection or paper tray size detection were a problem there would be an equal sized void at the bottom of the page matching the top. Is this machine set up to scan? What do the scans look like?

It looks as though you've already done the CCD. That leave (5) choices in my mind:

1) The ribbon cable to the CCD.
2) Reload firmware.
3) Reformat the hard drive.
4) Lobotomy (U020). Be sure to print off the reports first.
5) Lastly the main board.

looks like trail edge margin is out of spec

run a sim 000 and print out birth chart on your machine
than run one on a good machine and compare all sims
see if you can spot one way out of spec

look for margins specs

Still sounds like a cassette guide issue to me. Check and double check the 11x8 1/2 cassette or drawer and make sure the guides within the cassette or drawer are completely centered. These have become off center or broken on me numerous times, and if the 8 1/2 x 11 orientation is properly centered, i wouldn't think that any internal adjustments via the maintenance mode would be necessary.

try cleaning the strip underneath the doc feeder paper tray, like a long variable resistor that detects the width of the paper. use a pencil eraser to clean. i had something similar it would leave a void area at the top because it didn't know what size paper was in the doc feeder.
