Three Tier color billing / color billing

    Hello Everyone,

I was wondering does anybody have any suggestions on what to charge for Kyocera's 3 tier billing. Also we give 500 color copies per month and they pay the overage.. Any suggestive tweaking on that would be greatly appreciated too

    Thanks in advance

Same. Depends on what you set each tier at i.e. 0-5%, 5-20%, 20% and over. Need a bit more info

Thanks, Sorry, I guess I wasn't clear, per copy charge.

    I will base it on
Level 1 Setting: 2% for each color (C/M/Y), for a total of 6%coverage.
Level 2 Setting: 5% for each color (C/M/Y) for a total of 15% coverage.

 If the total C/M/Y averages 2% or less, the page counts under Level 1.
 If the total C/M/Y averages between 2% and 5%, the page counts under Level 2.
 If the total C/M/Y averages over 5%, the page would count under Level 3.

    I am thinking

    level
    1- 0.05
    2 - 0.08
    3 - 0.10

Keep in mind that its a 1 to 1 ratio, if you set your tiers for fractions, everything will hit tier 3, good for you until your custy fires you. I leave all tiers default, it makes for a fair accounting and billing, keeps it to where anything really above accent color (ie:hyperlinks, letterhead etc) goes to tier 2 and a realistic amount of clicks hit tier 3. I had a rogue tech setting tier 3 at 8.3 and tier 2 at 2.5 and we lost our asses on the deal. Check out tech bulletin for CS/TA 3050ci/3550ci/4550ci/5550ci-06 dated 12/07/11, it gives a real clear explanation of tiered color settings and how to determine your optimal levels.

Just wondering how do you set the Tier percentages? We are setting up a Kyocera TASKalfa 3552ci and was wondering how to set this up. Thanks

Wouldn't it be easier to go toner out.

I guess I'm not understanding your question ... easier to do what? And what do you mean by "toner out?"
If you phrase your inquiry properly, you will get the answers you seek...

I guessed from the context of the discussion that what he meant by "toner out" is that toner would be excluded from the contract coverage. That way the customer would be covered for parts but not toner.

After reading this again, I think that if you can get the custy to sign off on this ppc, that would be outstanding for you as a dealer. you want to set it so that t3 collects the majority of the clicks, as this is designed as a way to give the customer a break on things like hyperlink color and letterhead, not give them a break on the majority of clicks. I expect to get (in the neighborhood of) 70% T3 20-25%T2 and only 5-10%T1. If you don't set them up in your favor, it becomes hard to have a profitable machine.
