Taskalfa 6052ci MAC driver won't install.

I am having an issue when attempting to install the MAC driver V3.3 on a new install. I downloaded the latest driver from the copystar site, unzipped the file then ran the package installer. Then I go to the sys preferences and printers. Click on add printer, IP method, enter the machine IP. At this point the driver then looks up the equipment using the IP, self-populates the "Use This Driver" field with appropriate driver [CS 6052ci (KPDL)]. This tells me that the driver and the copier are talking with the MAC in question on some level. Then it should be a matter of clicking "Add" then its a short 5-10 seconds til the next screen should appear to complete the install, however, this is where the installer lags and throws up the color wheel. I waited over 45 minutes at one point to see if it would error or complete. The only way to stop the installer is to reboot the MAC. I tried uninstalling and removing all other info then downloading fresh. I've tried using IPP, LPD, HP jetdirect socket. I have installed this same driver on MAC only environments with no problems, Kyo says it seems like equipment and driver are operating fine. Any thoughts?

Does this driver specifically state that it's for your Mac OS? There is typically a lag in releasing drivers for the more recent Mac OS's during which time we often have to experiment with older drivers, hoping they'll work. And sometimes they do. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

It appears to be the correct driver, It specifically references OSX 10.11

I'm wondering if the MAC OS hasn't had the updates run, could that potentially cause a similar issue?

Sure, or a corrupt driver version. =^..^=

Re: Taskalfa 6052ci MAC driver won't install.

I had this once with a *EDIT* 3552ci* a few months ago. Only place I've had this issue. All their MACs had this same problem. I'm sorry I can't recall their OS version, but I after hitting ADD, I let them run for 20 minutes and it was still frozen. Tried re-downloading the driver and still had the same issue.

This was a scenario where the MAC users were rarely going to print to the MFP, and if they did it was going to be a simple print job. So, I eventually gave up and used Airprint. Installed quickly and still working fine to this day.

Re: Taskalfa 6052ci MAC driver won't install.

Ok everyone, first thank you all for your insight. I've discussed this with my rtr and he explained the mystery. When setting up the latest Mac driver (v3.3) once you are in the "IP setup" and have entered the IP, you MUST enter the queue name if none just enter "print" and it will complete the install. Goofy but true. Hopefully this will help another Windows guy as he ventures into Mac-land.

Thanks again for all the input.
