Strange trouble at a cs 2551ci copy mode

But when I copy from the feeder the prints are bad. I have attached a sample. Please advise:

    Hi
I had the same problem... I needed to do MM 455 ( Setting targets for CCD).
in service manual following the procedure with appropriate chart...A quick check to see if the CCD adj is the MOST likely problem is duplex copy, however this will only work with a feeder that has an internal scanner.

    Have fun

I've seen something like this on an Alphard II. On my machine it affected only scans through the DF, not off the glass. I resolved my issue by replacing the scanner board and doing the appropriate calibrations with the charts. It's my understanding that there is a database held on the scanner board regarding specific color values. That database became corrupt.

Yeah, I know that's not very clear. That's all I could make of the explanation. =^..^=

If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.

Thanks Geo. Did you mean MM425? Set Target value? The procedures in the book?

Thanks Cat! Do you have the recommended procedure for replacing the scanner PCB?

The manual covers it nicely. =^..^=

I do not see the "scanner power board" replacement procedure. Is it the same as the ISC board? The Set Target looks easy enough. NOT! It would take a rocket science to do all the formulas. I kid you not. I have the manual and read it but I still don't get it. Where do we get the test charts? Does anyone want to loan me theirs? And I quote:

"Measure the distance from the left edge to the black belt (a) of the original at A, B and C.Measurement procedure
    1) Measure the distance from the edge to the black belt (a) of the original at A (30 mm from
the leading edge), B (148.5 mm from the leading edge) and C (267 mm from the leading
    edge), respectively.
    2) Apply the following formula for the values obtained: ((A + C) / 2 + B) / 2
    2. Enter the values solved using the +/- keys or numeric keys in [Lead].
    3. Press the start key. The value is set.
    4. Measure the distance from the leading edge to the black belt (b) of the original at D, E and F.
    Measurement procedure
    1) Measure the distance from the edge to the black belt (b) of the original at D (35 mm from
the left edge), E (110 mm from the left edge) and F (185 mm from the left edge), respectively.
    2) Apply the following formula for the values obtained: ((D + F) / 2 + E) / 2
    5. Enter the values solved using the +/- keys or numeric keys in [Main Scan].
    6. Press the start key. The value is set.
    7. Measure the length (G) from the edge of the black belt (a) to edge of N475 of the original.
    8. Enter the measured value using the +/- keys or numeric keys in [Sub Scan].
    9. Press the start key. The value is set."

Thanks for your reply though. If you have a dummies manual or procedure I'm open to that.

Yes, it's ISC. I don't recall seeing anything like that when I did the adjustments. =^..^=

Re: Strange trouble at a cs 2551ci copy mode

I never worked on this model machine.
The old TaskAlpha250 had both a colour and grey scale adjustment
as standard calibration options. The calibration process could be accessed from the normal User Tools menu screen.

The greyscale calibration may help with the washed out RDF colour scan problem you have.

DO NOT do the colour calibration, instead do the full grey-scale calibration as it does a more intensive calibration which includes the full colour during execution. I believe the greyscale calibration sets the alpha-channel main reference point for all other colours.

Follow the greyscale calibration process exactly, placing each printed calibration reference chart onto the glass.
Make sure the optics are clean before execution.
