    FYI - FS-C8525MFP and 255c Fuser Compatibility

If you look at the most recent parts books, you'll notice both of these models have the same FK-896 fuser. However, if you look at Bulletin #1, the 255c is listed as a FK-895. So, somewhere along the line they updated the fuser.

If you have an older version FK-895 fuser in a 255c, it will NOT be forward compatible to a FS-C8525MFP which will have a FK-896 in it. It will not recognize that the fuser in installed.

The FK-896 IS Backward compatible with a 255c.

On the serial plate for the new FK-896 style, it is listed as a "FK-896", but on the old FK-895 fusers, there is nothing but a serial number.

    Hope this helps someone!
