How do I bump CQ to default darker, 4550ci

I just need to have the machine default to like +2 darker on the CQ for this one customer instead of them having to manually change it all the time.
This is on a 4550ci, I've been all through the system menu for 30-minutes, can't find anything to default the copier to +2 darker and stay like that.

Also default to +2 darker when receiving prints ???

    Thanks

Have you looked at the condition and number of copies on your consumables?
Have you done any test prints (U089 sample set will due)? Please attach samples.
Have you done a color calibration?

These are all things that you should look at first. There is no big VR on the front of the machine that says " + magenta -" It really doesn't work that way. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Did the user turn on the Toner Saver mode??? Had one just last week call about washed out prints, on arrival and checking the settings, someone had turned on the toner saver mode. Of course the customer said that was the way it was delivered and it just now started printing/copying light! Turning toner saver off they were OK with the prints/copies.

Toner save is off, I checked that.
50K on consumables. Yea Blackcat I'd like to have one of those VR pots from back in the late 80's when I started in this business, we used to tweak on all kinds of stuff via VR's, LOL

I was just looking to adjust AE density a hair for the customer, is that not possible on these machines?

    Hi there.

You can try the following :
Density AdjustmentThe density for all copying and the density for all sending and storing in document boxes can be made darker
    or lighter.
Use the procedures below to adjust the density.
    Copy
1 Press the System Menu key.
2 Press [down arrow], [Adjustment/Maintenance] and then [Next] of Density Adjustment.
    3 Press [Next] of Copy.
    4 Press [-3] - [+3] (Lighter-Darker) to adjust density.
    5 Press [OK].

That should save the default exposure value to the desired density.

Also, you can try U093. Personally i have not used U093 but it is worth a shot.

U093 Adjusting the exposure density gradient
    Description
Changes the exposure density gradient in the manual density mode, depending on respective
    image quality modes.
    Purpose
To set how the image density is altered by a change of one step in the manual density adjustment
for respective image quality modes. Also used to make copy images darker or lighter.
    Method
    1. Press the start key.
    2. Select the image quality mode.
    Setting: [Text/Mixed/Other]
    1. Select the item to be set.
    2. Change the setting value using the +/- or numeric keys.
Increasing the setting makes the change in density larger, and decreasing it makes the
    change smaller.
    3. Press the start key. The value is set.
    Item No. Description
    Display Description
Text Density in the text mode
Mixed Density in the text and photo mode
Other Density in modes other than the text mode or the text and photo mode
Fax Text Density in the text in fax mode
Fax Photo Density in the photo in fax mode
    Display Description Setting
    range
    Initial
    setting
F/C Darker Change in density when manual density
is set dark (full color mode)
    0 to 3 0
F/C Lighter Change in density when manual density
is set light (full color mode)
    0 to 3 0
B/W Darker Change in density when manual density
    is set dark (black/white mode)
    0 to 3 0
B/W Lighter Change in density when manual density
    is set light (black/white mode)
    0 to 3 0

With regards to adjusting the density of the printing - gonna have to stand in front of that model before i can give you an informed opinion. (i know some on some models you can adjust the print density - but like i said, going to have to stand in front of a model like this before i can say

Something else - have you executed the Clean Laser Unit Slit Glass? Also, have you done a dev refresh? And is your optics clean? Sorry if it is stupid questions - reason why i ask is because there was no mention to what had been done so i cannot assume that you have cleaned this or that.

    Hope this helps

    System menu/Adjustment maintenance/Density adjustment

Adjustment for copy or send, not printing
