    5501i series?

My company is not a Kyocera authorized dealer, but have been involved with Kyocera machines as a 3rd party service company for many years now.
We also have many tech certifications on Kyocera's, but dating back to Falcon I series.
For quite a few years we have been rebuilding and selling the Falcon I, II, III series (KM2530,3530,4030)(KM3050,4050,5050)(TA420im520i)
It looks like it may be time to start rebuilding and selling the newer Taskalpha 3501i , 4501i, 5501i
These models are built and look different than the Falcons.
My question to you Kyocera experts is are these machines as reliable or better or worse than the models we have been selling?
Will I be running into a lot of problems?
    What do you think?

ours are located in schools, they will run pm to pm. the only issue i have seen is the charge rollers getting paper rings on them and causing black lines, but if i remember correctly, there is a new part number that has a better cleaner. we clean them with water/alcohol and they run fine.

They do tend to blow toner. I would include a good internal laser cleaning in my refurb. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

The Falcons, are in my opinion, the finest copiers ever made but those days are long gone. When we refurbed Falcons it was one PM kit. A single tech could strip it to the frames and do 4 a day.

You won't see the same return on the dollar. The drums are rock solid, but that's about it. The fuser wear quick and make noises, the clutches fail and yes they run dirty.

The charge rollers have been updated very recently so hopefully those issues are behind us.

They've updated the Drums and Charge rollers to the same style as the XXX2 models. If you are going to replace MC's I would go ahead and replace the Drum unit, it will provide more stability and reliability in the long run.
If you phrase your inquiry properly, you will get the answers you seek...

Good Luck ... You'll need it! HAHAHA!

i have had GREAT success using "Nu Finish" car polish on charge rollers.. ( everything from Canon - HP - Oki - Xerox - Samsung - Muritec - LexMark - Ricoh ) clean with water.. dry.. coat roller with the polish and buff off... ones with really bad build up.. repeat. Tends to keep build up off and makes the print bolder.

I have also used " Rain-X " on copier mirrors that tend to build up ozone quick.... alcohol first then the rainx
