    406ci DP double feeding problems

We recently have run into a slew of 306ci,406ci,456ci machines with standard dp units having double feeding problems, examination of the friction pads show pretty severe wear at 2000 scans and 30000 scans,is anyone else having this issue? Does anyone have a solution?

what have you tried? Any error codes? is the sep pad/roller spring fed or stationary? if spring fed .. have you pulled it and stretched it out some? why not replace the pads if they show wear?

The separator pad was replaced, still misfed, reduced spring pressure slightly to increase separation, still double fed, will try the sep pad from the 1128,thanks

reduced spring pressure? to remove the double feed you need to stretch the spring to increase pressure not reduce the pressure

The separator pad was replaced, the problem is double feeding not kicking codes, you reduce pressure between the pad and feed tire to increase separation not stretch it to increase pressure decreasing separation, and yes i tried that too.

Re: 406ci DP double feeding problems

    Hi Guys,

I have also double feed problems on these models.
I have a customer which have 3 machines and all have double feed problems.
Stretching the springs works a little better but sometimes still double feed.

I will try the 1128 pads now.

    grtz.

I have found if the pad is shiny smooth.. rough it up a bit with a knife or scraper until you get a new one.. and yes stretching the spring does help.
