    Print Quality Taskalfa 3050CI

    Hi,

we have a problem with a TaskAlfa 3050ci, when we print or copy a page there are small black dots all over the page (see PDF).

We refreshed the drum kit and the developer kit an did the laser cleaning.

The fuser unit (teh two red rolls) seems to be clean as well.

The black Toner is new and an Original from Kyocera.

    Any ideas ?

    Tobias

Yes, your black drum has been arcing. You might as well do the maintenance A kit as long as you're this close to 300K. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

When you select what you want to print in U089, press System menu key and than hit Start. Pressing System menu again will bring you back so you can exit maintenance mode properly, or print something else.

It's the same drum DK-8505 (302LC93012) for all 4 colors. Those drum units (and developer units) are made to last for 600k printouts unless you get something like those dots where you must replace it.

Yes all the drums on those model (CS 3050ci,3550ci,4550ci,5550ci) are the same. One thing I would do in that situation is simply swap the yellow drum with the black drum. If you get yellow dots all over the page, you're done. Swap them back and get a drum for the black.

I always take the time to clean off all the drum & developer units because I have it open. Any time I pull off that gray unit holding the waste toner bottle I pull out the all the drum/developer units and clean them off. If your pulling out one drum/developer unit you have to remove the fuser and at least pull out part way the transfer unit. No better time to do some cleaning and these machine always need it. A clean machine always runs better. Heck, most of our job is just cleaning, so get out the vac and get it done.

I also pull all the charger rollers from each color and inspect them. If they have white build up on them, clean it off. ONLY use water on a rag to clean them. Anything else may damage the surface of those rollers. I usually do the charger rollers first as it gives them time to dry before reassembly.

And here's another freebie; sometimes those charger rollers get bubbles on the surface that look like dots of that color on the page. If I don't have a roller to replace it, I will usually swap it with the one in the yellow unit. It will show up a lot less until I can get back with the replacement part.

In the back of most all Kyocera service manuals is a section called Appendixes. In there is a page called Repetitive defects gauge. If you are having a repeating mark on the page, check this out. All you have to do is measure the distance between repeating marks and check this page. It will quickly bring you closer to the affected unit. I know this is not part of your initial problem, but another freebie.

    Hi i am back again,

thanks for your comments, i printed out a sample set of U089 (see the attachement).

    Kyocera_Taskalfa_3050ci_U089.pdf

The dots are on every page (also the colored CMY Pages), the black page has an white area in the middle.

Should i only exchange the black drum or is there anything else wrong ?

    Thanks for your support, Tobias

Laser scanner cleaning & DV refresh should take care of the void line. Replace the black drum & clear the black main charge count 930. Do all of your adjustments.
    Hope that helps !

Like he said. The black drum does not lose contact just because there is no more black content on the U089 sample set. It remains in contact and continues to make dots the whole time it's in use, for monochrome, full color, and single color prints. Black is always in use. =^..^=
