    720F error when scanning SMB

Anyone have anything on this error? The hotline said that it references the HDD being full, but there's 150gb available on the Win 10 computer. The workstation was working fine until the other day, now we get it any time we scan to folder. I did scan to flash drive & email just to make sure it wasn't hardware related. Firmware is up to date. It's a 306ci, not that it really makes much difference.
    Hope that helps !

Re: 720F error when scanning SMB

I don't know if this is pertinent, but I'll throw it out there.

I had a older Toshiba a while back that would not scan to SMB. Well, it did create a file in the scan folder, but the file was 0KB, and would not open. It was the original scan setup from some 12 years. I got the idea that after thousands of documents in and out the maybe the folder or it's permissions were corrupt.

So I created a new scan folder which worked fine. The original folder could not be copied, deleted, or permissions changed in any way. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Unfortunately, I did try to create a new folder as well, but got the same error.
    Hope that helps !

Would it SMB scan to your laptop? =^..^=

Looks like something is wrong with that particular Win 10. Set it to scan to email until they reinstall it or something. I don't think is TA 306ci related.

Re: 720F error when scanning SMB

I've been getting similar errors on both a 4002i as well as a couple M3550idn. Actually swapped a couple 3550idn models with 4002i due to "memory allocation errors" thinking that the limited memory on a 3550idn was the problem. Keep in mind that the 306ci has limitations everywhere including memory (we haven't and won't under any circumstances sell these). After swapping out equipment the errors continued. After consulting the Hotline, it was determined that it has more to do with network traffic or a server based memory allocation error. I forwarded the info to the client's IT provider and the errors seem to have subsided. Sorry for the vague response, my guess is multiple operations in rapid succession causing network traffic issues.
If you phrase your inquiry properly, you will get the answers you seek...

Good Luck ... You'll need it! HAHAHA!

    Make any headway?

I ran into a 720F on monday and have been struggling with it intermittently. I will make a change that seems to subside the error for the rest of the day and they'll call back the next day. From what I can tell, it has affected only the PC's in one office of this dealership and is likely correlated to the switch they're behind. But this dealership doesn't have IT of any kind. When I first asked, they gave me the number to the alarm system guy that had installed some network hardware but couldn't tell me anything besides they have a few switchs.

I honestly don't know what to do other than to set them up with scan to SMTP/FTP.

I wish I could give you some help. Their IT guy was one of our former techs. He ran a 906 & it's been working as far as I know.
Mine would error every time, however scan to email & Flash drive both worked fine. That's why I thought it wasn't hardware related.
    Hope that helps !
