If the client requires a max 4" wide print, then the Toshiba B-FV4 would be an excellent choice for 500 prints per day with a print speed of 6 inches per second.
There are two types of printers. Thermal transfer which uses a ribbon and plain paper with a long shelf life. Direct Thermal printers uses a chemically coated paper which turns dark when heated and has a six month shelf life.
I haven't worked on A4 thermals since 1999, as Canon fax. Both thermal transfer and direct thermal. A few of those had RS232 kits (print card conversion).
Does anyone still make thermal A4 printers? =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

If they need 8" wide thermal printing, Toshiba offers the B-SX8T at 8 inches per second and much higher cost. Rated for 15,000 labels per day.
Thanks for the replies.
Still I cannot find any A4 printer with thermal technology. The client said that he has an offer from a competitor for A4 with thermal technology and if we want to be considered we have to have same. Its an old client (6years now ) for a sale of around 17 machines, my boss does not want to loose that client.I will keep on my research and keep you all updated.
Thanks
What is the purpose for this?
