6052ci Colour Tone Drift on Long Print Runs

    Hi

Having a few colour issues on this box and wondering if anyone has come across it or something similar.

Machine setup all done correctly. Colour table was changed to most suitable for the customer and print greys as black selected in driver as docs have a lot of grey boxes and backgrounds.

Colours are perfect at the start of a print run but after half an hour of printing brochures the greys start to get a greeny blue tinge to them which just gets worse. Once this happens, colour calibration doesn't correct the issue adn you have to perform tone curve adjustment. Machine will then print fine for a while before drifting again.

I put the machine back to standard colour table in case it was this causing the issue and change calibration cycle to short but same problem.

Have a number of these out and happy with colour quality in general but none that would do such a high volume of brochures. Could put it down to volume but their old 5551ci never had a problem with it.

    Thanks in advance

i also agree with previous post on U325.

and u may have already checked this, but have you tried switching the "Calibration Cycle" to a priority for image quality in System Menu/Adjustments?

    Set the calibration cycle.
Auto: Automatically sets the cycle for calibration.
Short: Priority is given to image quality.
Standard: Balances image quality and print speed.
Long: Priority is given to print speed.

Thanks for the help. I have already set calibration cycle so will try U325 as it seems most likely to cure the problem.

There seems to be 10 mode settings so I will just leave it set to mode one and maybe increase it if it doesn't cure the problem. Does this mean the printer will stop to "add toner" mid print run?

    Thanks again
