I think the most-utilized answer to this particular problem with this particular engine is: throw it in the trash, put something (anything!) else in it's place.
If you want to keep the customer, you will follow the recommendation given above.
Have put out a couple of these series, great running machines, other than the toner yield. So.....far.
Check bulletin Ref. No.2KW-0044 (D271)
There is a special firmware that you need to load to reset the registration and keep it stable. Follow the steps in the bulletin and after about 30 min you should be done.
Ok we only service two of these and don’t have bulletin or fw.
You might want to check your pm's then.
I'll second the recommendation to throw it away if you want to keep the, customer.
Had 3 brand new c2626's in my territory. Worked fine for 6 months then they all needed color reg adjusted every week. Did the 'special' firmware which was actually like 3 firmware upgrades. Worked fine a few months, then back to color reg every week.
Replaced the transfer belt even though it wasn't even 50% of its life. Worked fine a few months then back to color reg every week.
I did that special firmware so many times on those and it might keep for a month.
Only one of the three had over 100,000 on the meter after 3 years. Guess who didn't buy from us when the lease was up?
