Copystar CS-3501i Duplex jams 4411

Getting very intermittent Jam 4411 codes only on duplex pages , simplex is working fine . Doc Feeder finishes before jam occurs , so I assume it is not part of the problem . Machine has about 200,000 pages on it , customer mostly runs letter size paper . I have the service manual and parts book , but no access to service bulletins . Has there been any mods to this area of the machine ? Has anyone had this problem and resolved it ? I have the event page , shows the jam as being 4411.01.86.01.01 , last 16 jams over the last few weeks . Thanks in advance , Ark .

Duplex clutch in the conveying assembly (at the top rear of the section that pulls out). Clean / replace the clutch may work. I think there was an update from Kyocera that installs a pad against the roller the clutch drives to make it stop quicker. Easy test to is run duplex one page at a time and it will never jam. The clutch does not stop quick enough and the second page or later will run into the page ahead. 45XX machines and higher use stepper motors instead of a duplex clutch.

Check the number of duplex pages done in maintenance mode, you might find that the duplex roller is worn , it's usually the one on top, I normally replace both clutch and duplex roller, there was also an issue with the photo sensors but that was with the earlier series which required the conveying unit to be replaced
