    335ci

We have been a kyocera dealer for close to 2 years and we seem to be having this on going issue with 3551ci not holding copy quality especially losing magenta, if we do a dv refresh and calibration the quality comes back but it lasts a short time. we do setups correctly and have tried new dv units and doing all the maintenance codes associated with replacing dv units , we even have done complete pms with all colors and transfer belt and roller sometimes it seems to help but more often then not we lose qualty, we have notified our regional service rep and he is no help, have also looked for bulletins and found nothing all firmware is the latest. are we just missing something ? maybe someone has come across this or knows something we dont , any help would be appreciated

This sounds like one of those situations with no clear-cut answer. If you take a Kyocera color MFP and use it primarily for monochrome B&W (95% B&W, 5% Color), the color developers will lose their triboelectric effect. They die of neglect. If you can convince your enduser to run a developer refresh once a week it will be fine. I have a few that do this religiously, and it entirely resolves the issue. It would be nice if this was somehow automated, but it is not.

Do not run developer refresh more than 2 times consecutively. Even good developer will start to overtone.

If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

I agree, but about half the population of these machines have equal amounts color and b/w, and your right i wish it was automated, dont have the same issues with 5551ci and we have a huge population of both, sometimes the color is barely there, it just seems like its almost under toned..

Got some info from Japan: seems to be working hope this helps someone

From system menu set calibration to "short"
Set u325 to "on" and (mode 2)
Set u148 drum refresh set to mode 3
Set u147 set minimum to 20

Thanks. I've got a customer in mind to give this a try.
