Kyocera TASKalfa 5501i - Check waste toner

I have a strange one. A 5501i we have is coming up with CHECK WASTE TONER.

    Story

Went to change the drum and decided to remove the wast tank holder and dust out the excess toner in drawer, popped it back in and the error appeared.
Then we changed the front unit that has the waste toner inside and still no joy.

We now have this machine in the workshop and have replaced the following:-

Sensor that sits above the neck of the waste bottle
    The Waste tank
The sensor that sits above the middle of the waste tank
    The front PWB
Wiring loom that connects the sensor to the front PWB
the engine PWB, MAin PWB and Power Supply
I have even changed the gear that drives the waste bottle and the holder.
    Firmware has been updated

    What have i missed ??

Check for bent pins at the connector relay that the inner unit plugs into. Both sensors pass through that wiring harness but I'm pretty sure "Check waste toner" applies to the middle sensor that checks the nipple on the bottle.

If you have a parts machine, a whole inner unit replacement, would eliminate a lot of things.
sim 906 could possibly reset it. Maybe? Just grasping here.
