Copystar CS406CI locks up and program loading problems
Good day all.
Have a frustrating one.
Client has a Copystar CS406CI. When it works it works fine across the board. but the issue is. they had the machine working in one location. and they moved it to a home office then a few weeks later to its new cargo container office home. at some point in conversations. we find out that there was a lightning strike in the general area but not a direct strike to the home. the flakey issues are as follows. when it boots it will get to program loading then have ( "now checking file system. this may cause a delay") on the screen and will sit there forever. when awakening from power save it will say main door (right side) open you open and close to no avail. try a 906 in service mode and machine locks before can execute it.
things have tried. new hard drive. formatted it seems to work but the above happens on following morning. replaced main pwb (formatter) both dims and hard drive wont get past "now checking file system. this may cause a delay" tried all of the above parts parts from a known working machine (brand new out of box) no joy. any thoughts? powersupply?
Thanks
Andy

I have seen the low voltage power supply cause a similar issue

Re: Copystar CS406CI locks up and program loading problems
i would reload emergency firmware, then upload current firmware, also do a memory dump (sim ?) and after you get it running correctly make sure it has a good surge protector on it

Re: Copystar CS406CI locks up and program loading problems
thanks for all the input. right now we are seeing what insurance will say. and go from there. took fax card out of machine. and have set power save to 1 minute. wake by it every so often and wake it up and copy. so fat no issues. this is with new HDD ( still had issue after replacing it) no issues so far after removing fax.
hmmm
