    Kyocera Ecosys M2540dw - skew

Got a new machine in today and the image is skewed about 3 mil. There is not adjustment for the scanner and nothing I can find to adjust the paper skew. Any help would be appreciated or just send it back?

    Thanks

Well I did find a adjustment procedure U411, have to have test originals to do them, ChartA 302NM94340 and ChartB 302NM94330.

    Kuby-

Did you find a fix for the skewing? I have 35 of these to install and the first 3 out of the box are skewing, needless to say I haven't un-boxed the the other 32 yet. Any information would be helpful. THANKS!

No it did not fix it. Got a new machine and it does it too. I guess it is the nature of the breast?

Thanks, I was hoping you found a fix. I'll call work support, and hopefully they will have a solution, or at-least i will have a case number for the Regional Tech.

Please temper your expectations. It's a desktop unit. If people need a digital scan without much fuss it'll do.

Is the image skewed equally from top to bottom?

So did you determine if it's a paper skew or an original skew?

I had a tabletop B&W printer that was skewing ~3mm from all the trays. I was able to completely remove the paper skew by installing a longer pressure spring at the pre-registration roller.

    skew1.JPGskew2.JPG

The spring at the left is the original. The spring in the center is the replacement that I used. The spring at the right was too strong and the idler shaft would not stay clipped in long enough to install the rollers (they launched across the room). I can get measurements and model numbers, but I think you get the basic concept. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Unofficial fix. Shim the rear side of your fusing unit.

We had to shim a fuser on a M3550 that was skewing bad with legal paper.
