what are you trying to do? increase the stack that can be stapled? That is dependent on the staple unit itself.

I am trying to find out if this is a hard and fast rule or if there is some kind off special firmware that kyocera has that can change it... and yes I am trying to increase the stack size for stapling for legal to about 50...

To the best of my knowledge this is a hard and fast rule embedded in the firmware for both legal and ledger sizes. It is not a function of stapling the larger stack size as stapling 50 sheets of 20 lb. letter size would be the same as stapling 50 sheets of 20 lb. legal. I think it has more to do with Kyo thinking that outputting the increased stack size for legal/ledger would create more errors in the finisher. It does not make any sense no matter which way you look at it, but I have found no way to work around it.
