    TASKalfa 3050ci Error C2820, C2840, C2850

    Hi guys,
I have a Utax CDC 1930 (same as TASKalfa 3050ci) giving me C2820, C2850 (both Transfer Motor) and C2840 (Transfer Cleaning Motor) every few prints, I don't see a regularity.
I can easily rotate the Transfer Unit.
Turning on the Transfer Motor in U030 gives no sound but also no error (will check with the service adapter if it runs on the next visit).
Ordered the Transfer Unit for now but the errors seem strange to me...
If the Transfer Unit won't help I think I'll oder the Transfer Motor itself, the Transfer Cleaning Motor is built into the Transfer Unit.

    Any advise?
    Thank you

I have seen the worm gears on the motor wear out causing issues.

I was just reading through the codes. There are only ... let's say three logical selections:

    1) harness and connectors
    2) connector PWB on the door
    3) engine PWB

Engine PWB is the most likely.
It's unlikely to have two unrelated motor failures on the same machine at the same time. But a shorted motor could draw down the 24vdc, then code alternately on both motors using the same supply voltage. I've seen feed PWB1 cause a wide variety of strange things, but I think the C2840, C2850 is unlikely.

Does any of that help? =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Wait... I also have C0980 logged two times (24V power interruption detection). Thought it wouldnt have a connection to thus Error. So it could be a shortened motor.
    That indeed helped!

    Ok, here's what I've got:

C2820 points to the transfer motor TRM (24v connected at YC13 pin7 of feed PWB1).
C2840 points to the transfer cleaning motor TRCM (24v connected at YC3 pinA1 of engine PWB).
C2850 points to transfer belt rotation, same as C2820.
C0980 points to 24v loss at the PSPWB.

So you could conceivably have a shorted TRM, TRCM, or just be losing the 24vdc at the PSPWB.

You can check that 24v at the power supply. Measure each pin to frame ground. I think that I would watch for sagging or varying 24vdc at these pins:
    YC7 pins 1, 2 (to LSU)
    YC8 pins 1, 2, 3 (to Motor Controller)
    YC9 pins 1, 2, 3 (to Feed PWB1)
    YC10 pins 1, 2 (to LCF)
    YC13 pins 1, 2, 3 (to HVPWB1)

It would be convenient if was consistently inoperable. You may have difficulty getting it to demonstrate the problem.

The manual is not very useful for tracking the 24v back to a specific pin on the power supply, sorry. =^..^=

I did Plug'n'Pray with the Trnasfer Unit and it is running so far (swapped it on tuesday). ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
