    task alfa 406ci #creased envelopes

I saw the envelopes creasing after I replaced the fuser...
    envelopes still creased... at fuser
    envelopes fed from bypass
    #10 envelopes
    after observing
I found that the envelopes were creasing at the rear of envelope...
whether fed face up or face down...
at first thought it was a flat spot in fuser but text seems fine not shifted...
and issue does not occur in letter size paper...

did some searching on kyocera website and found a bulletin 2R4-0018 (G219)
that recommends... for creasing at fuser...
302R494061 -- PARTS CONVEYING ASSY SP
    302R424280 -- SHEET DISCHARGER

checking if this is an issue anyone has faced before and if there is another bulletin to consult or option to try...

Laser printers and copiers will not do envelopes or labels.. Have your boss buy them a thermal label maker.

Creases are the result of air getting trapped in the envelope with no escape. The only solution is having a fuser that has envelope tabs to create a gap between the heat and press rollers. Some newer machines will have fusers that retract and create a gap automatically when the paper type is changed to envelope. I would verify your machine has these capabilities then check to make sure the paper type is set to envelope.

What do you suppose would happen, JR, if you poked a couple of microscopic needle holes towards the corners at the trailing edge of the envelope to release any pneumatic pressure? =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Eh, the size of the hole needs to be in direct relation to the amount of air being pushed. (I'm sure speed figures in the equation as well, but I'm no mathematician)

It's like holding a bag of water and poking a needle hole in it. You're only releasing a trickle of water pressure.

I see this a lot when people dont select the correct paper type, the size is correct but they forget to select the correct media type, also you can run envelopes out of the trays on the 406

    Great answer!

Envelopes crease of almost all copiers, sometimes its simply trial & error finding a good brand of envelopes that would with your copier.

yes you were right... once i set to correct media type it worked...
but this left the copier raising a stink when you sent envelopes to it due to print driver having wrong media type...
there is a setting that allows you to turn off the warning messages that has you ok everything...
and just lets it print straight... on the kyocera in the system menus...
not sure where... but I found it on the 406ci
