    kyocera color printers

looking to buy some kyocera color printers and want to avoid the models that loose registration and require total teardown to repair. i think i want to avoid the rear feed models but i dont know which of the new models feed from the rear. am i off base here in what i think i know? how do i know which models rear feed? is the registration issue a thing of the past? thanks--tuey

If you stay away from the tabletop devices you should be OK. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Ditto. They're all rear feed, they all drop toner on the pages. Warranty's are a bonus though.

The registration and tear-down/toner add problem was unique to one particular POS so that's not a concern.

The newer machines are definitely better, colorwise. =^..^=

    Re: kyocera color printers

i'm not a big fan of kyo color either but i have a multi location customer that recently decided that she had to have kyocera everything. i sold the 5030 series, 5350 and 6030 with ok results but lost a couple with the registration thing- bought used ones and replaced rather than do the tear down. so the 5026 and 6230's are different models completely? thanks--tuey

I'd avoid Kyocera & go for HP a good reliable manufacturer for desktop printers for years, you'll still see really old HP's in use today.

HP stopped caring about servicability on their desktop models. They're throw away machines now.

    Take a look at lexmark.

agreed, the smaller new hp's are a bitch to tear down, even changing rollers got harder. i think i'll look around at the lexmark line this weekend. probably still have to sell this customer kyoceras. thanks--tuey
