    Fuser Troubles

This fuser is leaving streaks and jamming occasionally. Can it be raired reasonably or should you just change out the unit. Anyone have a used 302L693021 that can be purchased. $459.00 was the best I could find for a new unit.

It's been that kind of day. It is a Copystar C3050I machine.

You could order new rollers and clean up the fingers, and presto, a new fuser.

I get your point, but on my experience i get close to 100k prints from just replacing the fuser and pressure roller. Very seldom do I get a bearing failure. Might be because I don't charge for replacements parts, but for copies made, so try to save on costs on my end.....
For people that get charged, I do use all new stuff.

Just order the maintenance kit, and the machine will run long enough to recoup the cost from the copies made.

It's less work for you, and the customer will thank you.

The other option is endlessly tearing apart and rebuilding the fuser as each part fails in time. That sucker is good for about 300k copies on the maintenance kit, if you can't make your cost back on that many pages then maybe you have other issues you need to look at.

Just to warn you, these are not the simplest fusers to get re-assembled once you've gotten them apart.

When I scrap out a used fuser unit I try not to break or cut anything, so that I'm learning a useful task: how to properly disassemble the unit. This one is not easy.

Buy the assembly. Once you buy the parts, you'll have to throw the labor in for free. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.
