hey guys, quick Q, had the new guy replace the black drum in a 2552, but they didnt turn the machine off, so i had to go out there with a new one again to reset the drum refresh count, now the 1st new one has a count of 200K on it, is that count stuck to the drum now or is it just the one machine that will always think it has 200k?

It should be written to the drum EEPROM, so yes, it is 200K to any machine it resides in.

1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

the young guy said he did but who knows, i did when i put the second new one in its all good, i was afraid of the 1st drum being stuck at 200k, was hoping a different machine would reset it to zero.
The drum count resides in the machine. That new drum that you took out, you could use that in a machine that had a scratched drum or something like that. The issue is that if you put that drum that was already in a machine. In another machine. It will not reset the drum count. The count from the previous drum will still be in the machine. Yea I know, there is something not right about that, but that is the way it is. We had someone do it also.
yeaha, got a new 2552 in today before run up put the 200k new drum, booted waited till it had finished its initial phase, still 200k on drum, not even that can help em fellas, make sure the new guy gets the memo and turns off the machine before swapping haha aaaaahhh
