    Kyocera 4020 creasing paper

It doesn't happen all of time, I recently replaced the fuser due to the teflon coming off. I re positioned the paper in the cassette and the problem went away. Not sure if it was the paper or not, usually the fuser causes this. 474,796 pages printed total, maint kist was done at AROUND 300,000. No toner in crease, any ideas?

Check that the pressure button(s) at not set to envelope.

My guess is that one is set to envelope and one is set to plain paper. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

"and No toner in crease ideas?"

    the main clue right there...

means the crease is PRE DRUM!

    look at registration
does it buckle too much before the reg?

You got me there. Maybe the paper is creased in the tray? =^..^=

    Re: Kyocera 4020 creasing paper

Had the same situation on a different model a couple of weeks ago where every sixth or seventh print would show a crease. Sometimes just slightly and other times enough to distort the print. When we switched paper to a ream we provided this issue disappeared. What I suspect was the customer's paper was not cut square and when the registration roller squared up the leading edge of the customer's paper, it created more of a buckle on one side than the other and then when it passed through the registration rollers it created the crease prior to the drum, no toner in the crease. If we had not brought our own paper the customer would not have believed us.

Both green buttons were up on the fuser, made sure by pressing them both down, then back up.
She showed me some more this AM, seems a little worse with a 2 vertical creases. I printed some status pages and no creases, she says it seems to happen after sitting idle for 1/2 hour or so. Then when she prints the first pages are creased. After it prints a while it goes away? Going to clean the registration roller to see if it helps.

do a stop test *open door in middle of print process* .. let 2-3 page get into machine then open front/side door ..where is it wrinkle/creasing?
    are the paper guides correct?
check machine for scraps of paper?

    Re: Kyocera 4020 creasing paper

It didn't happen during the stop test, of course it did crease the first page after though. This is going to be "one of those" calls, at least the printer is in the office next door. I will wait until it has been idle, then retry the stop test.
Oh, and thanks to all of you guys for assisting me!
