Have had this before where a sheet of paper got behind the cassette and when the user inserted the cassette it was between the cassette and the connectors on the tray and the backside of the machine and pushed paper shards into the connector preventing proper contact. Power down the unit and use a fine tipped spring hook [I actually have a fine tipped dental tool] to pick out the paper shards in the connector. Hope this helps.

I also had one where the main clutch drive had a piece of the plastic from the drive coupling stuck. The drive coupling was broken on the feed unit. Drove me crazy because when I swapped trays the problem still was there but whenever I put the first feed unit would also jam.

Bulletin F094 addresses the rollers, but only mentions the 3010i. I could be incorrect if it applies to your model, but I would double check it.

well tried everything else still not working. remembered this post and looked. guess what the hump is almost gone. ordered rail and rail plate for cassette. we will see..... plus they leased a new 3212i and we got this back in trade so can fix in the office. we will see and let you know

What are the item numbers of the parts you have ordered? Curious if this will be your fix.

finally got the frame rail.it came slow boat from china...... put it in and yeah it works

So do you think that the tray was sliding open by itself, incrementally disengaging the lift drive and separation lift?
